Euro-USA
was founded in 1986 by two partners who recognized the potential for
specialty foods in the retail and food service industries. These
partners’ passion for truly high quality and artisan foods led to them
into business, and the market responded enthusiastically. In the early
years, specialty food meant balsamic vinegar and fresh mushrooms from
Europe. As the American appetite for new and unusual foods grew,
Euro-USA became a leading importer and distributor of European cheeses,
olive oils, pastas, confections, spices, and charcuterie. Euro-USA also
became a leader in the seafood business, merging with Navillus Seafoods
in 1998. Today, Euro-USA offers more than 6000 unique items, ranging
from fresh and frozen seafood to fresh pasta. The pride of Euro-USA’s
operation is evident in its efficiency, its obsession with customer
service, and its high caliber product mix.
In
2000 Euro built a state-of-the-art distribution facility to accommodate
not only the fresh seafood division but the increasing variety of high
end foods and ingredients that now define our success. The new building
allowed the expansion into a cut and wrap cheese program for retailers,
additional freezer space, more dry storage, and the cleanest, most
efficient seafood processing facility in the Midwest.
Within the last year Euro has added fresh
meat and poultry to the mix by aligning with Niman Ranch (a producer of
all natural beef, lamb, and pork) and LaBelle farms (producers of
heirloom chickens and eclectic poultry).
As
Americans travel and become more worldly combined with the emergence of
the Food Network, the internet, and celebrity chefs the world of
specialty foods has never been more vibrant and Euro-USA continues to
be a leader in an industry whose potential is boundless.
We
